2001.

Hosted the Latin Chapter meeting in Montevideo.

2002.
I was elected Chairman of the ICCA Latin Chapter.
I was elected Chairman of the ICCA Hotel Category (sector) joining for the first time the ICCA Board.

2002.
Elected Chairman of the ICCA Latin Chapter.
Elected Chairman of the ICCA Hotel Category (sector) and joined the ICCA Board of Directors for the first time.
Organized the ICCRM in Montevideo for the first time in Latin America
I still remember the Bid process and the educational programme and how difficult it was to convince the most expert speakers and the professionals in the region to come. At that time, it was a completely new event never done before and totally unknown by the people in the business.

2003.
Decided to take the challenge of presenting the BID for the ICCA General Assembly 2005;
It was a dream and a great challenge at the same time as I remember that many friends and colleagues in the region said that I was crazy thinking that it was possible to bring the assembly to the region and to Montevideo. In those times Latin America was just starting to position the region and I had the strong belief that the ICCA General Assembly was a decisive factor to move the business ahead. During the General Assembly in Busan, Korea, we won the Bid for the General Assembly 2005 and the dream started to become a reality.
Elected President of COCAL (Latin American & Caribbean PCO and related activities Federation) with a total of 9 members (9 countries). Handing over the Presidency in 2006, the Federation had 16 members (16 countries).

2004.
Re-elected Chairman of the Hotel Category (Sector).
As President of COCAL, I signed a strong agreement with the ICCA Latin Chapter to co-organize the ICCA Latin Chapter yearly meeting at the same time as the COCAL General Assembly.

Today, both meetings are running at the same time with great success.
Received the Prize for the Congress Executive of the Americas (IMEX AWARD) 2004, a prize given by the IMEX Award Academy in Frankfurt - Germany

2005.
Chairman of the Local Host Committee for the icca congress.
I had the honour to handle this important event that gave a different view of the business in all our region. 450 delegates from all over the world took the challenge to come resulting in an event that attracted the largest number of latins in the history of ICCA. Our government was fully committed to the event giving all the necessary support and printing an unforgettable Postage Stamp.

2006.
Re-elected as Co-Chairman of the Venues sector.
This was an exciting and new experience where together with the other Co-Chairman, Alec Gilbert, we faced a challenging way of doing business by including all the venues together - Convention Centres and Hotels and meeting the new market trends.

2007.
Elected as 3rd ICCA Vice-President.
Organized the Client-Supplier Workshop in Montevideo.
Many attempts had been made before with no success so we took the lead to organize it for the first time by changing the way of doing it. This proved to be very popular and this event is now organized on a yearly basis in different countries in the region.

2008.
Received the ICCA Moises Shuster Award
Received the COCAL Award
Hosted the Latin Chapter meeting in Montevideo
This was a great year full of emotions for me in my life; I never imagined that ICCA was going to give me the Moises Shuster Award during the General Assembly in Victoria, Canada, at the same time that I was stepping down from the Board. Happiness and sadness at the same time, I will say.

2009.
Elected Chairperson of the ICCA Latin Chapter for two years.
Elected President of the Uruguayan PCO & Trade shows Association. (Audoca)

2010.
Elected President of ICCA in Hyderabad, India.
